A Letter to President Trump

Dear Mr. President
If you look at your numbers, every time you go up in popularity, it’s when you are not on social media and that is not a coincidence Mr. President, because you say outrageous things online that tends to cause people anxiety like when you say you’re going to “end the Iranian civilization.”
I may be able to look at this and say, “oh it’s a negotiating tactic for Donald Trump,” but too many people will look at it and say the man is crazy. Specially so, when on Easter Sunday, the highest of all holy days for 3 billion people, you are dropping F bombs and praising Allah. It not only comes off as disrespectful to 3 billion people, it also comes across as unglued and untethered from reality.
I may understand that you are just being bombastic to your target audience, the lunatic Iranians regime. I may understand that Mr. President. Many of your supporters may understand that, but ours is a weary nation of 350 million people, 40% of voters which, in all honesty, are Democrats that hate your guts. 20% are skeptical independents who may sometimes like you but may not completely have your back. 30% of the nation, support you and the rest don’t care. You’re playing the odds negatively Mr. President, when you go on Truth Social and you say the things that get under peoples’ skin.
Where is your popularity in the polls now? And don’t look to your favorite poll sources. In national polls you’re polling an average of about 38% and that’s not a coincidence Mr. President. When you go on social media and say such insane things, as you’ve said in the past 72 hours, your poll number start to tank. Mr. President, you’re never gonna win that 40%. We know that.
They are a bunch of progressives who hate you and most of them actually hate the United States as much, but the 20%, or at least a good portion of independents, are people who voted for you in 2024, because they couldn’t stomach the alternative and they still prefer you to the other side. But when you’re pulling the stunts you’re doing on social media, they begin to think that maybe they need to let the Democrats take the House in the midterms so they could at least hold you accountable.
It’s terrible politics what you’re doing with your social media to yourself, because it’s not just you, there’s an entire group of people out there called Republicans, who are running for office Mr. President. Every time you say outrageous things on social media, they have to defend it, or if they run from it or denounce it, a sizable portion of your base turns against them for not being sufficiently loyal to you, and they stay home and give the Democrats a free pass. It’s already happened since your reelection with a stream of Democrat victories even in deep red districts you carried by double digits.
Mr. President, you’ve already got 40% against you and if 10% of your base turns against you, or Republicans, that’s 50% out of the gate against you and a Republican, who you need to get elected, so that you’re not impeached, so that you can get nominees confirmed and you can pursue your agenda.
Mr. President , please slow down, delete your social media accounts, or try not to say these bombastic things. You have a lot of people out there, who may not be your best friends, who may criticize you sometimes, but they still prefer you to a Democrat, but when you are dropping F bombs on Easter Sunday, you’re turning them away. We preferred you to Joe Biden who turned Easter into a Transgender appreciation day, but still, that was not a good post on a sacred day. That was beneath the dignity of the office of the leader of the free world, it was beneath your dignity.
I understand why you did it. I understand the strategy, I understand the target audience. I get it all. I understand you are dealing with doomsday lunatics you had to scare, but still, we find your comments unacceptable, and completely out of bounds. Large numbers of your supporters were appalled and disgusted with you for doing it.
Your social media post on Easter Sunday backed you into a corner and all you have accomplished is negotiate an end to our aerial campaign with Iran. That is an embarrassment for the United States as it stands today. Why? Because your ceasefire deal has taken us back to the where we were with Iran before we started dropping bombs.
The apocalypse lunatics are still in control of the country, they still have their nuclear program because they still have the enriched Uranium, their missile building industry is still operating and launching capabilities are still standing, and now more than ever, Iran may make a dirty bomb, put it on the end of a conventional warhead and part of Israel becomes a radioactive wasteland, Iran still can support its proxies and they still control the Strait of Hormuz. What have we gained?
Mr. President, although you have the capacity to fundamentally change things in the Middle East, you’re not there yet. You’re 3/4 of the way there. You must go back in and finish the job. You’re doing yourself more harm than good with your social media accounts. Consider this you intervention. Sir we support what you have been doing in Iran but you must finish the job.
Sincerely,
The American people that support you.
