Karen Bass and "Venceremos Brigade"

The “Venceremos Brigade” is an international Marxist organization founded in 1969 by members of the Socialist group “Students for a Democratic Society,” or SDS and Cuba’s Castro government.

The the founders of SDS were well to do, American youths, often called “Red Diaper Babies” because their parents were members of the Communist Party USA.

The SDS’s military arm, the “Weather Underground,” carried out a campaign of terror against the government. Two of its founding members, are Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, the couple who hosted Barack Obama’s political campaign launch from their home.

The Venceremos Brigade was formed as a coalition by these young Communists to show

solidarity with the Cuban Communist revolution and as a training curriculum to spread Marxist propaganda in America’s institutions of higher education.

The yearly brigade trips continue, and as of 2010, have brought more than 9,000 people to Cuba to receive Marxist indoctrination under the guise of cultural exchange. Many prominent Americans ranging from current politicians to publishers and academics, have visited Cuba, including Karen Bass, the Mayor of Los Angeles back in the 1970’s.
